25th Mecklenburg Stallion Days in Redefin
Stallion Market and Anniversary Gala
From the 5th – 7th November 2015 the Riding Hall of the State Stud Redefin is once again the meeting place for horse people from several German states and from overseas, along with young stallions from the best international bloodlines.
The “Mecklenburg Stallion Days” have been through interesting developments in their 25 years. In the first years after the reestablishment of the Horse Breeders Association in September 1990, only horses from Mecklenburg were permitted in the young stallion licensing. Among them was a noble young stallion called “Juventus”, who later wrote history as a sport horse and by passing on good genes in the Mecklenburg breeding line, along with “Chacco-Blue” and other great stallions. Only since the year 2001 were young stallions from other German breeding areas allowed. Since then the “Mecklenburg Stallion Days” have constantly developed. The special ambience in Redefin, the increasing quality of the stallions and attractive show program has drawn more and more visitors and participants from renowned breeding areas. The stallions from this year were selected by the committee at nine stations in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania and Lower Saxony between the 15th and 24th September. The ancestry of the registered stud candidates promise high sportsmanship yet again. For example, a son of the Belgian stallion Kannan out of Voltaire, currently the world’s number one show jumper, is signed up for Redefin. Also the internationally successful jumping stallion Nabab de Reve out of Quidam de Revel has a descendant partaking. Further international jumping horses like the World Cup finalist Mylord Carthago (France), Riscal la Silla (Mexico) or Zambesi (Holland) are showing off their selected sons. The high standard of last year’s dressage stallions is to be kept up in this anniversary year with descendants of stallions such as Dante Weltino, Destano, For Romance, Fürst Heinrich, Millenium, Spörcken, Totilas and Zonik. Even amongst the pony, small breed and special breeds there will be some interesting types.
The schedule shows that on Thursday 5th November the stallions of the pony, small breed and special breeds will be presented and licensed. Friday (6.11.) from about 1pm the physical exam on paving for all riding horse stallions takes place, and from about 4pm is the free jumping of the “dressage emphasized” stallions. On Saturday (7.11.) from 8.30 am further inspections of the “dressage emphasized” stallions continue and follows from 11am with free jumping of the “jumping emphasized” stallions. The licensing results will be announced after each ring. The awards to the best stallions and the announcements of the winning stallions is around 5pm. During the entire period, licensed and non-licensed stallions can be purchased with a health certificate at the “provision free stallion market”. The high quality of the stallions presented in Redefin is once again confirmed by the stallion Fürst Willem HC out of Fürst Wilhelm. He was licensed in Redefin in 2014 and in 2015 he was named “Federal Champion” of the 3 year old stallions in Warendorf. Catalogues featuring the stallions which are for sale can be obtained through the Horse Breeders Association (Tel. 0381 / 44033870). The Mecklenburg Stallion Days will finish with a two hour Anniversary Gala, full of entertainment and a few surprises!
